Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do or achieve. Do what you want to do and be who you want to be. Just encourage and include each other, don’t ostracize the gender in front of you.
“It sound like a ridiculous thing to say, but I’m very interested in truth, in finding ways to be messy and unsure and flawed and incredible and great and my fullest self, all wrapped into one. When you watch the work of someone like actress Emma Thompson, you feel like you’re seeing something true, and I aspire to that.”
“I made a choice last year that I would only wear sustainable fashion on the red carpet. The fashion industry has such a huge environmental impact; it has such a big human impact. It’s not just enough anymore that it’s a beautiful item or it’s a beautiful piece — I want to know that it’s not leaving a negative mark.” — Emma Watson talking about her dress for the Met Gala 2016
“Fame is not something I have always felt comfortable with; I have really grappled with it emotionally. And, in a funny way, doing this is my way of making sense of the fame, of using it. I have found a way to channel it towards something else, which makes it so much more manageable for me. And this is something I really believe in.”
I’ve probably earned the right to screw up a few times. I don’t want the fear of failure to stop me from doing what I really care about.
When did you first come to use the term feminism? When I was 9, I think, during my first-ever Harry Potter conference, I said I was a “bit of a feminist”! Ha! I think I was scared to go the full hog. I was scared I didn’t understand what it meant. I obviously did, I was just so bemused by all the chatter around the idea.
Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong. It is time that we all perceive gender on a spectrum, instead of two sets of opposing ideals.

But it’s a journey and the sad thing is you only learn from experience, so as much as someone can tell you things, you have to go out there and make your own mistakes in order to learn.
